Producer: Originally started by Jean-Marie Berthier in the 1980’s & now headed up by his two sons Clément & Florian, vines & wines definitely run in the family. They pride themselves on taking an environmentally-friendly approach in the vineyard & a minimal intervention approach in the winery.

Terroir: Terre de Silex comes from very specific soils, located in the town of Saint Père.The vines are planted in clay soil with flint (Silex) from the cretaceous period. The unusual concentration of flint found in the soil is responsible for this wine’s subtle aromas of gunflint
